“Queen City,” 

but it’s this city 

that has the best Mexican food  

in all of Alabama.  

Even if we’ve gone wall-eyed 

from class discussions waxing long, 

I’ll see you all here 

with the tint of peach walls 

splashed across furrowed brows. 

Red sauce for every bite, 

and water with a lime. 

Goddamn water with a lime.
