 Love Lessons

 Genesis Drake

I washed my hands in the blood
And I couldn’t get clean so
I dipped my body in the blood

I started crying tears,
Dirtier than ever

I started searching for the divine

The gold bricks disintegrated under my feet
And I couldn’t catch the fence

Maybe this is how Eurydice felt, plunging to the underworld
You shouldn’t rely on a man to save you, they often fail,
Only saving themselves.
Love is not love.
Love is lust and
Lust is the kiss of death
For all the pretty things.

Eurydice found her divine
And ended up dying.
Twice.
